columbia road flower market
Columbia Road Flower Market. Tower Hamlets.
A flourishing Sunday (8am to 2pm) flower market selling plants, bedding plants, shrubs, bulbs and freshly cut flowers. The range of plants is wide, offering everything up to ten foot high banana trees. Other items for sale include bread and cheeses, antiques, and unusual international edibles.
Columbia Road itself is full of character, with quirky shops, boutiques, galleries and cafes. It is a delightful place to visit on a Sunday morning.
Originally held on Saturdays, the market was moved to Sunday in deference to local Jewish traders, and so that Covent Garden traders could sell stock left over from Saturdays.
