Hackney City Farm is one of London's leaeding city farms, particularly aimed at families. Visitors can get up close to many farmyard animals, including pigs, goats, sheep, chickens and donkeys. Also some small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and geese. The chickens and ducks say eggs daily; these can be bought in the shop, alongside honey from the city farm bees. The animals are on rotation wih a farm in Kent, spending some time in Hackney and some time on a working farm in the country. 

Hackney City Farm hosts about three school visits a week. These involve workshops on subjects such as creative recycling, growing plants, and hatcha nd brood. The city farm is also home a unique school for up to ten young people (ages 13 to 17) who require a tailor-made approach to their education.
